Quick simple explanation of Sender Verify Callouts:
Address A gets sent to address B. Address B sends a request back to address A to find out if it's a valid address. Address A acknowledges the request and the message gets delivered. If address A fails, the message is not accepted.
- A to B (send message)
- B to A (verify message)
- A to B (deliver message)
Good? Bad?

Some, frustrated that some of their emails are not coming in due to 'Sender Verify' checks, wonder if it's worth it.
Let's face it. Email is important to all of us. We need to ensure that we get all of our important messages. But, we also don't want to wade through hundreds of junk mails, do we? Finding a balance is difficult, and trying to filter out spam is a multi-part process, each with it's pros and cons. Is Sender Verify/Callout worth the trouble?

BoxTrapper sounds good in theory, and maybe is good for those people who only get email from a few friends.
But, as soon as you start signing up for newsletters, or forums, or anything that sends out an automated email, you run into problems. BoxTrapper works with the assumption that it is a 'person' on the other end reading. And that's simply not the case.
Whitelisting is no good, because you don't know for sure what the address is that's coming in. And soon it becomes extra work to manually approve each automated email you want.
Instead, use a good overall spam filter like MailScanner/SpamAssassin. |

You must update the Domain Record of your web address with your correct contact info at all times. If you have a Domain Name (web address) registered with a Registrar like NetworkSolutions.com or Register.com, and you manage your own domain record, check your info right now.
It's very important to keep your domain record up-to-date, especially when transferring to other registrars and moving your hosting to another provider. If you don't, you leave your domain at risk of not being renewed, or worse, someone altering the info and redirecting the website.

Now is the Time to Get Yourself a TRULY Personal E-mail Address
If you work for a company, you were probably issued a work e-mail address that looks something like this: joe.schmoe @ megacompany.com. And if you’re like most people, you’re also probably using your work e-mail address to:
- manage all of your electronic correspondence
- send those “cute” jokes and e-mail chains
- schedule personal appointments
- conduct other personal business
Now, let me ask you a few pretty obvious questions:
- Would you have personal products shipped to you at work?
- Would you want holiday and birthday cards sent to your work address?
- How about your “private” magazines?
I didn’t think so.
The time has come for you to stop using your work e-mail for personal reasons. Yes, my friend now is the time to take the next big e-step and get a REAL personal e-mail address (and domain). Catch up with the millennium and separate your work and your personal e-mail once and for all.

Here is a free Open Source program to create zip archives (like WinZip)

Though it’s free, I always recommending donating something to these projects, even if it’s just $5. |
