Ever notice how a lot of spam comes through with just First Names? Spammers like to use this technique because everyone probably knows a Joe, John, Mary. However,
I'm sure that while you are quickly scanning through 100 junk emails on
Monday morning, you are pretty much ignoring most of those First Names,
even if it's your sister's name. Uh oh. How does YOUR name display in your emails? Is it Spam Like?

What a pain... I finally figured out the problem I had with the wysiwyg editor not always showing up. It was driving me crazy, sometimes working, sometimes not.
I thought it was the browser (IE v FF). Maybe it was different templates, or a CSS error. Uploaded newer versions of different editors (JCE, JoomlaFCK) Finally found out it was HOW I was accessing the admin area.

Here is a response a friend recently wrote
concerning one of
those wonderful 'forwarded messages' we all seem to get every morning as people
check their Office email:
=================
First of
all.........Hello. Second of all......how about using the BCC: option on
sending multi-emails out?? I, myself, would appreciate NOT having my e-mail
address displayed to EVERYONE in your address book.

Emails going thru our spam filters are stripped of I-Frames for security purposes. This may affect some emails that attempt to put a form for interaction.
A quick lesson, if interested. (otherwise no reason to continue)
Some malicious emails contain 'I-Frames' in the html of the message. I-Frames allow a web page to include content from a complete different website on the Internet, usually scripts. This could allow an email to skip past scanners (since it doesn't have any dangerous scripts), and then when it's viewed it calls the script from that malicious site.

As I was checking the spam filters on the server this morning, I saw a wave of crap from bogus earthlink accounts. The main reason was that a website (yourdomainname.com) was set to send ALL email addressed to that domain to their earthlink email. (Default Address)
This is not a good setup, as you then get hit by dictionary attacks where they send to every name and word @yourdomainname.com, AND it gets delivered.

Just found a new phishing scam in an email. It was very well made. It looks very legit, looking to renew my subscription. But, a few things stuck out.
First... I don't subscribe to Self Magazine. Then, there were a few other tip offs, like

It's sometimes easier to work with Joomla initially by turning off many of the features that are on by default.
Login. Usually, there will be an Administrator menu if you are logged in as an admin. If not, that's ok. Go to your site/administrator/ (www.website.com/administrator). This brings up the login page for the Admin Panel.
Dig around and check out the menus and options available.

(Saving/Cancelling) Joomla allows for multiple people to edit the site content at the same time. With this comes a problem where if two people are editing the same item at the same time, the content can become
